We Wear The Same Shirt – Time to Change Wales

we wear the same shirt

Merthyr Town F.C. was recently reformed in 2010 but has history dating back to its initial formation in 1909. The club competes in the Southern Football League Premier Division, which is the 7th tier of English football.

The club holds its We Wear The Same Shirt training sessions every Tuesday at 1.00pm – 2.30pm.

Elliott Evans, Community Development Officer said on participating in the programme: “Negative attitudes toward mental illness are a major issue in Merthyr, and by being involved in the programme we can have a positive immediate impact on someone’s life. Nobody in Merthyr has put themselves forward to try and tackle the stigma, so we’ve been really happy to get involved with this!

Here at Merthyr Town F.C. we are always trying to get involved in the community and have a recognised presence as 500-600 members of our local community are turning up and watching our games every week. We want to give something back to our fans by ensuring that everyone can get involved with our club, and we want to people to see the good work we do on and off the pitch.”

If you’re an adult living with a mental health condition, WE WEAR THE SAME SHIRT wants you to join the team. The new football programme is free of the pressures of competition and will be run by Merthyr Town F.C.’s top coaches every Tuesday 1.00-2.30 p.m.
