We have a number of volunteer placements available at Merthyr and The Valleys Mind, including:

  • Professional Counsellor
  • Trustee Board Member

Professional Counsellor

We provide opportunities for Professional Counsellors who may need to gain ‘hours’ in order to remain qualified. We have supported many professional counsellors to work with a range of clients and gain the hours they need to comply with BACP regulations.

The Trustees of Merthyr and the Valleys Mind are the backbone of the organisation. The position of trustee is a highly responsible volunteering role that oversees a significant growth strategy along with internal improvements. This will put Merthyr and the Valleys Mind at the forefront of high quality mental health and wellbeing services in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. Leadership experience
Recent or current experience of working/volunteering with a similar size organisation
Experience of working with financial and performance information
Experience and interest in board support and administration
